Allah

Obedience entails a concept of authority, and disobedience results in concept of displeasure of this authority and possible punishment. The concept of ultimate authority in the mind of all human beings always ends up with one.

It is very difficult for humans to believe in an unseen one God. Therefore they invent visible shapes for Him like partners, sons, intercessors, idols, saints etc. In spite of these multiple Gods, idea of one Supreme Being overlooking all other gods always existed. This actually had to be because everyone experiences in this life the necessity for one decision maker in each house, family, village, city, or a country and thus concludes that there has to be one God who runs this world.

That’s why we see monotheism or one Unseen God, being the central concept in human beings, but to accommodate their desire to be able to communicate with someone visible, they introduced the partners to God, in the shape of human beings, sons or idols or dead saints or holy people. So we see today atheist, idol worshippers, holding partners to God, ascribing sons to Him, saints and their graves worshippers, and those believers in only one unseen god.

We Muslims believe in ONE UNSEEN GOD. Our Holy Book Quran says right in the beginning (2-1)Alif-Lam-Mim [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’an and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].  (2-2)This is the Book (the Qur’an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much [perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained]. (2-3)Who believe in the Ghaiband perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat),and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah’s Cause – Jihad, etc.]

Allah asks us to believe in and recognize Him through His Names and address him by His Beautiful names. (59- 24)He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Therefore our basic beliefs pronunciation is based on this and is given below:-

ATTRIBUTES OF ALLAH

How attributes of Allah helps in finding and recognizing ALLAH.

The story of my friend, a Black Muslim, named Abu Bakar Muhammad, I me in 1976 in Denver, Colorodo USA. Where I had gone from Pakistan to do a course with US Air Force. He related this story how he became a Muslim. He was tasked by school to study major religions of the world and then teach his student. He did just that. But then to find the Truth, he set criteria for The Creator of this universe, and then he studied all religions of the world. Only Allah of Islam, as described in Quran, met his standard and he became a Muslim, went to Jamia azhar in Egypt for two years and became a devout Muslim and preacher. He organized the first mosque in Denver in a rented house and I met him there for the first time in Isha prayers on Friday.

So you can do the same thing as was done by Abu bakar Muhammad and Insha Allah you will find Allah, THE ULTIMATE TRUTH

Think of criteria for God, what all attributes He must have to qualify to be accepted as ONE UNSEEN GOD.ie who is The Creator, The Cherisher, and The Sustainer of all that is in this world, all that is in the universe. Then study all prevailing concepts of God in all religions, compare them, and then decide for yourself what seems to be THE TRUTH and only then Believe. If one really is sincere in finding the Truth, the God will know it and will certainly help the TRUH SEEKER find the RIGHT ANSWER.

Here I will help you out by giving some of Allah’s Attributes in this study.

Attributes of Allah

  • Say (O Muhammad: “He is Allah, (the) One”.
  • “Allah-us-Samad” [Allah the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)].
  • “He begets not”, nor was He begotten.
  • “And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.”

Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. [This Verse 2:255 is called Ayat-ul-Kursi]

(59-22)He is Allah, than whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. (59-23)He is Allah than Whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory is to Allah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him. (590-24)He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, and the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Allah’s way of guiding the Truth Seeker is this:-

Allah has also been kind to the mankind in helping him TO FIND HIM, by asking man to think hard, and has set certain questions and made certain statements about Himself in His LAST MESSAGE to the mankind i.e. HOLY QURAN.

There will be only one answer to them all- that will be:-

“THERE IS NO GOD BUT ONE -WHO IS WORTHY OF WORSHIP,-AND THERE CANNOT BE ANY PARTNERS TO HIM -WHICH PEOPLE WRONGLY ATTRIBUTE TO HIM.”

Let us see what does HE say about Himself and What Questions He asks mankind to answer to Know HIM and recognize HIM as Ultimate TRUTH.

Mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqoon. (2-21)

Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped)
(2-22)

How can you disbelieve in Allah? Seeing that you were dead and He gave you life. Then He will give you death, and then again will bring you to life (on the Day of Resurrection) and then unto Him you will return. (2-28)

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed? And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; 3 who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: “Can you see any rifts?” 4 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. (67-1 to 3)

All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinn’s and all that exists). The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful the Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything). Guide us to the Straight Way the Way of those on whom you have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians). (1-2 to7)

Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, and the ships which sail through the sea with that which is of use to mankind, and the water (rain) which Allah sends down from the sky and makes the earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving (living) creatures of all kinds that He has scattered therein, and in the veering of winds and clouds which are held between the sky and the earth, are indeed Ayat (proofs, evidences, signs, etc.) for people of understanding. (1-164)

And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in (or on) the earth and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth or anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record. (6-59)

And it is He Who has made you generations coming after generations, replacing each other on the earth. And He has raised you in ranks, some above others that He may try you in that which He has bestowed on you. Surely your Lord is Swift in retribution, and certainly He is of Forgiving, Most Merciful (6-165)

And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): “Am I not your Lord?” They said: “Yes! We testify,” lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: “Verily, we have been unaware of this”.  (Al-Araf, Chapter #7, Verse #172).

O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily! We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh, some formed and some unformed (miscarriage), that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And we cause whom we will to remain in the wombs for an appointed term, then we bring you out as infants, then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when we send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life); it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth). (Al-Hajj, Chapter #22, Verse #5)

And Allah did create you (Adam) from dust, then from Nutfah (male and female discharge semen drops i.e. Adam offspring), then He made you pairs (male and female). And no female conceives or gives birth, but with His Knowledge. And no aged man is granted a length of life, nor is a part cut off from his life (or another mans life), but is in a Book (AlLauh AlMahfooz) surely, that is easy for Allah. (Fatir, Chapter #35, Verse #11)

He created you (all) from a single person (Adam); then made from him his wife (Hawwa (Eve)). And He has sent down for you of cattle eight pairs (of the sheep, two, male and female; of the goats, two, male and female; of the oxen, two, male and female; and of the camels, two, male and female). He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation in three veils of darkness; such is Allah your Lord. His is the kingdom, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turned away? (Az-Zumar, Chapter #39, Verse #6)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists). The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). (Chapter #43#59#27#63)

Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: “Can you see any rifts?” Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. And indeed we have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and we have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire.

He is Allah, than whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. He is Allah than Whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, and the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). He it is, Who has made the earth subservient to you (i.e. easy for you to walk, to live and to do agriculture on it, etc.), so walk in the path thereof and eat of His provision, and to Him will be the Resurrection.

And We have placed on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with them, and We placed therein broad highways for them to pass through, that they may be guided. And We have made the heaven a roof, safe and well guarded. Yet they turn away from its signs (i.e. sun, moon, winds, clouds, etc.). And He it is Who has created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating. 34 And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad SAW), then if you die, would they live forever? Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned.

The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). (Al-Rahman, Chapter #55, Verse #5)

He arranges (every) affair from the heavens to the earth, then it (affair) will go up to Him, in one Day, the space whereof is a thousand years of your reckoning (i.e. reckoning of our present worlds time). (As-Sajda, Chapter #32, Verse #5)

And among His Signs is that the heaven and the earth stand by His Command, then afterwards when He will call you by single call, behold, you will come out from the earth (i.e from your graves for reckoning and recompense). (Ar-Room, Chapter #30, Verse #25)

It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge. (At-Talaq, Chapter #65, Verse #12)

He has created the heavens and the earth with truth, and He shaped you and made good your shapes, and to Him is the final Return. (At-Taghabun, Chapter #64, Verse #3)

He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He knows what goes into the earth and what comes forth from it, what descends from the heaven and what ascends thereto. And He is with you (by His Knowledge) where so ever you may be. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do. (Al-Hadid, Chapter #57, Verse #4)

Whosoever is in the heavens and on earth begs of Him (its needs from Him). Every day He has a matter to bring forth (such as giving honor to some, disgrace to some, life to some. (Al-Rahman, Chapter #55, Verse #29)

And to Allah belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He forgives whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-Fath, Chapter #48, Verse #14)

Say (O Muhammad SAW to these pagans): “Think! All that you invoke besides Allah show me! What have they created of the earth? Or have they a share in (the creation of) the heavens? Bring me a Book (revealed before this), or some trace of knowledge (in support of your claims), if you are truthful!” (Al-Ahqaf, Chapter #46, Verse #4)

And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play. (Ad-Dukhan, Chapter #44, Verse #38)

And indeed if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?” They will surely say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them”. (Az-Zukhruf, Chapter #43, Verse #9)

They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified is He, and High is He above all that they associate as partners with Him! (Az-Zumar, Chapter #39, Verse #67)

Say: “To Allah belongs all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and then to Him you shall be brought back”. (Az-Zumar, Chapter #39, Verse #44)

And verily, if you ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” Surely, they will say: “Allah (has created them).” Say: “Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allah, if Allah intended some harm for me, could they remove His harm, or if He (Allah) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?” Say: “Sufficient for me is Allah; in Him those who trust (i.e. believers) must put their trust”. (Az-Zumar, Chapter #39, Verse #38)

And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire! (Sad, Chapter #38, Verse #27)

And if all the trees on the earth were pens and the sea (were ink wherewith to write), with seven seas behind it to add to its (supply), yet the Words of Allah would not be exhausted. Verily, Allah is All Mighty, All Wise. (Luqman, Chapter #31, Verse #27)

“O my son! If it be (anything) equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed, and though it be in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Verily, Allah is Subtle (in bringing out that grain), Well Aware (of its place). (Luqman, Chapter #31, Verse #16)

And He it is Who originates the creation, then will repeat it (after it has been perished), and this is easier for Him. His is the highest description (i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but He, and there is nothing comparable unto Him) in the heavens and in the earth. And He is the All Mighty, the All Wise. (Ar-Room, Chapter #30, Verse #27)

He brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from the living. And He revives the earth after its death. And thus shall you be brought out (resurrected). (Ar-Room, Chapter #30, Verse #19)

Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations. Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? Little is that you remember! (An-Naml, Chapter #27, Verse #62)

Is not He (better than your gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water). Is there any ilah (god) with Allah? Nay, but most of them know not. (An-Naml, Chapter #27, Verse #61)

He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring) and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements. (Al-Furqan, Chapter #25, Verse #2)

And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). (Al-Mumenoon, Chapter #23, Verse #12)

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, and then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? (Al-Anbiya, Chapter #21, Verse #30)

Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) gods besides Allah, then verily both would have been ruined. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! (Al-Anbiya, Chapter #21, Verse #22)

And they worship others besides Allah, such as do not and cannot own any provision for them from the heavens or the earth. (An-Nahl, Chapter #16, Verse #73)

On the Day when the earth will be changed to another earth and so will be the heavens and they (all creatures) will appear before Allah, the One, the Irresistible. (Ibrahim, Chapter #14, Verse #48)

Is then He (Allah) Who takes charge (guards, maintains, provides, etc.) of every person and knows all that he has earned (like any other deities who know nothing)? Yet they ascribe partners to Allah. Say: “Name them! Is it that you will inform Him of something He knows not in the earth or is it (just) a show of false words”. Nay! To those who disbelieve, their plotting is made farseeing, and they have been hindered from the Right Path, and whom Allah sends astray, for him, there is no guide. (Ar-Rad, Chapter #13, Verse #33)

Say (O Muhammad SAW): “Tell me! If (all) your water were to be sunk away, who then can supply you with flowing (spring) water?” Say it is He Who has created you, and endowed you with hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts. Little thanks you give. Who is he besides the Most Beneficent that can be an army to you to help you? The disbelievers are in nothing but delusion. Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) has been My Warning? Do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven (Allah), will not cause the earth to sink with you, then behold it shakes (as in an earthquake)? Verily! Those who fear their Lord unseen (i.e. they do not see Him, nor His Punishment in the Hereafter, etc.), theirs will be forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of They will say: “Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.” And they will say: “Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!” Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things.Have you not looked at him who disputed with Ibrahim (Abraham) about his Lord (Allah), because Allah had given him the kingdom? When Ibrahim (Abraham) said (to him): “My Lord (Allah) is He Who gives life and causes death.” He said, “I give life and cause death.” Ibrahim (Abraham) said, “Verily! Allah causes the sun to rise from the east; then cause it you to rise from the west.” So the disbeliever was utterly defeated. And Allah guides not the people, who are Zalimoon (wrong-doers, etc).
