PROPHETS
THIS IS A SAMPLE STUDY.
God told all human beings that they will receive guidance from Him and they should follow it whenever it comes; the guidance was sent to all nations through prophets.

(2-35) And We said: “O Adam! Dwell you and your wife in the Paradise and eat both of you freely with pleasure and delight of things therein as wherever you will, but come not near this tree or you both will be of the Zalimun (wrong-doers)”. (2-36) Then the Shaitan (Satan) made them slip therefrom (the Paradise), and got them out from that in which they were. We said:”Get you down, all, with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment for a time”. (2-38) We said: “Get down all of you from this place (the Paradise), then whenever there comes to you Guidance from Me, and whoever follows My Guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve. (2-39) But those who disbelieve and belie Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) such are the dwellers of the Fire, they shall abide therein forever.

God took oath from  all the human souls   that Allah is their Lord so that they cannot say on Day of Judgment that they did not know and were led astray by others or  their forefathers (7-172). And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam’s loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): “Am I not your Lord?” They said: “Yes! We testify,” lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: “Verily, we have been unaware of this”. (7-173) Or lest you should say: “It was only our fathers afortime who took others as partners in worship along with Allah, and we were (merely their) descendants after them; will You then destroy us because of the deeds of men who practised Al-Batil (i.e. polytheism and committing crimes and sins, invoking and worshipping others besides Allah)?” (Tafsir At-Tabari) (7-174) Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, so that they may turn (unto the truth).

God took oath from  all the prophets. “(3-81) And (remember) when Allah took the Covenant of the Prophets, saying: “Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah (understanding of the Laws of Allah, etc.), and afterwards there will come to you a Messenger (Muhammad) confirming what is with you; you must, then, believe in him and help him.” Allah said: “Do you agree (to it) and will you take up My Covenant (which I conclude with you)?” They said: “We agree.” He said: “Then bear witness; and I am with you among the witnesses (for this No human beiing has beeb granted immortality,Everyone will taste death (21-34). And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad), then if you die, would they live forever? (21-35). Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned.

Mankind was one community but  when prophets came to correct their wrong thoughts which crept in with passage of time then they started following their own prophets, rather than following the prophets who came after their prophets and thus  they split into different religions and developed envy or hatred for one another. Same happened with Jews and Christians who refused to accept Islam due to self pride and envy and self interest of rulers or religious leaders  (2-213). Mankind were one community and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed. And only those to whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it after clear proofs had come unto them through hatred, one to another. Then Allah by His Leave guided those who believed to the truth of that wherein they differed. And Allah guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. (2-253, 2-256) There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.  (2-272) Not upon you (Muhammad ) is their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. And whatever you spend in good, it is for yourselves, when you spend not except seeking Allah’s Countenance. And whatever you spend in good, it will be repaid to you in full, and you shall not be wronged. (2-284) To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and whether you disclose what is in your ownselves or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it. Then He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Able to do all things.

God’s Messengers have been sent to all nations to preach only islam but   people differed with them because they wanted to follow their own prophet, which was wrong logic and violation  of Allah’s directive. The main reason  envy and created was self interest of religious leadersa  and they createddifferent  religions.   For this very reason Jews did not accept Jusus Christ , as their prophet.  (16-63) By Allah, We indeed sent (Messengers) to the nations before you (O Muhammad), but Shaitan (Satan) made their deeds fair-seeming to them. So he (Satan) is their Wali (helper) today (i.e. in this world), and theirs will be a painful torment.

All prophets were human beings so was prophet Jesus Christ pbuh. a human being and not son of God  (21-7). And We sent not before you (O Muhammad ) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the Reminder [Scriptures – the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel)] if you do not know.(21-8) And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals. (21-9) Then We fulfilled to them the promise, and We saved them and those whom We willed, but We destroyed Al-Musrifun (i.e. extravagants in oppression, polytheism and in sin). (25-7) And they say: “Why does this Messenger (Muhammad ) eat food, and walk about in the markets (like ourselves). Why is not an angel sent down to him to be a warner with him? (25-8). “Or (why) has not a treasure been granted to him, or why has he not a garden whereof he may eat?” And the Zalimun(polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) say: “You follow none but a man bewitched”. (25-9) See how they coin similitudes for you, so they have gone astray, and they cannot find a (Right) Path. (25-20) And We never sent before you (O Muhammad ) any of the Messengers but verily, they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you have patience? And your Lord is Ever All-Seer (of everything). (26-154) “You(Saleh) are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful”. (26-155) He said: “Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known. (29-27) And We bestowed on him [Ibrahim (Abraham)], Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob), and ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) (to Musa – Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) (to ‘Iesa – Jesus), the Qur’an (to Muhammad ), all from the offspring of Ibrahim(Abraham)], and We granted him his reward in this world, and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous. (13-38) And indeed We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad ), and made for them wives and offspring. And it was not for a Messenger to bring a sign except by Allah’s Leave. (For) each and every matter there is a Decree (from Allah). (14-11) Their Messengers said to them: “We are no more than human beings like you, but Allah bestows His Grace to whom He wills of His slaves. It is not ours to bring you an authority (proof) except by the Permission of Allah. And in Allah (Alone) let the believers put their trust. (14-12) “And why should we not put our trust in Allah while He indeed has guided us our ways. And we shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us, and in Allah (Alone) let those who trust, put their trust.

Prophets job is to convey the message and it is up to people to believe it or reject it (29-18). “And if you deny, then nations before you have denied (their Messengers). And the duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message) plainly All prophets were Trustworthy Messengers and could not have said anything other than what they were asked to convey; Jesus Christ could not have said that he was son of God. They also had no personal motives, nor asked for compensation or reward from people thy were preaching. (26-105) The people of Nuh (Noah) belied the Messengers. (26-106) When their brother Nuh (Noah) said to them: “Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? (26-107). “I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. (26-108) “So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. (26-109) “No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (26-110) “So keep your duty to Allah, fear Him and obey me”. (26-123) ‘Ad (people) belied the Messengers. (26-124) When their brother Hud said to them: “Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? (26-125) “Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. (26-141) Thamud (people) belied the Messenger. (26-142) When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: “Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? (26-143) “I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. (26-161) When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: “Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? (26-162) “Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. (26-177) When Shu’aib (Shuaib) said to them: “Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? (26-178) “I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. (26-179) “So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. (26-180) “No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (6-90) They are those whom Allah had guided. So follow their guidance. Say: “No reward I ask of you for this (the Qur’an). It is only a reminder for the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns)”. (27-59) Say (O Muhammad ): “Praise and thanks be to Allah, and peace be on His slaves whom He has chosen (for His Message)! Is Allah better, or (all) that you ascribe as partners (to Him)?” (Of course, Allah is Better). (27-76) Verily, this Qur’an narrates to the Children of Israel most of that about which they differ.

All prophets were given books.including Prophet Jesus Christ pbuh (25-35). And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)], and placed his brother Harun (Aaron) with him as a helper; (25-36) And We said: “Go you both to the people who have denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).” Then We destroyed them with utter destruction. (29-27) And We bestowed on him [Ibrahim (Abraham)], Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob), and ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) (to Musa – Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) (to ‘Iesa – Jesus), the Qur’an (to Muhammad ), all from the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham)], and We granted him his reward in this world, and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed among the righteous.

No prophet, including Jesus Christ, can be intercessor without God’s permission Intercession belongs only to God.He can forgive  whom He likes.

(2-255) Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. (30-13) No intercessor will they have from those whom they made equal with Allah (partners i.e. their so-called associate gods), and they will (themselves) reject and deny their partners. (39-43) Have they taken others as intercessors besides Allah? Say: “Even if they have power over nothing whatever and have no intelligence?” (39-44) Say: “To Allah belongs all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you shall be brought back Allah gave to each Prophet some speciality that did not mean that they cease to exist as human beings. (2-253) Those Messengers! We preferred some to others; to some of them Allah spoke (directly); others He raised to degrees (of honour); and to ‘Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), We gave clear proofs and evidences, and supported him with Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. If Allah had willed, succeeding generations would not have fought against each other, after clear Verses of Allah had come to them, but they differed – some of them believed and others disbelieved. If Allah had willed, they would not have fought against one another, but Allah does what He likes.

Prophets have always been denied by the rich and influential of a society  and  the followers of previous prophets, so was Jesus Christ denied by Jews  and that’s how Jews and Christians are denying Muhammad pbuh, The Last Prophet Of God. (23-33) And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: “He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. (23-34) “If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily! You indeed would be losers. (23-38) “He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him”. (23-39) He said: “O my Lord! Help me because they deny me”. (23-44) Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. (29-16) And (remember) Ibrahim (Abraham) when he said to his people: “Worship Allah (Alone), and fear Him, that is better for you if you did but know. (26-17) “You worship besides Allah only idols, and you only invent falsehood. Verily, those whom you worship besides Allah have no power to give you provision, so seek your provision from Allah (Alone), and worship Him (Alone), and be grateful to Him. To Him (Alone) you will be brought back. (29-18) “And if you deny, then nations before you have denied (their Messengers). And the duty of the Messenger is only to convey (the Message) plainly.

Allah took covenant of all prophets, that they will preach oneness of God  and that when the last prophet comes then they believe in him and help him. Jews and Christiand have taken away this part of Message given to their  prophets. (3-79) It is not (possible) for any human being to whom Allah has given the Book and Al-Hukma (the knowledge and understanding of the laws of religion, etc.) and Prophethood to say to the people: “Be my worshippers rather than Allah’s.” On the contrary (he would say): “Be you Rabbaniyun (learned men of religion who practise what they know and also preach others), because you are teaching the Book, and you are studying it.” (3-80) Nor would he order you to take angels and Prophets for lords (gods). Would he order you to disbelieve after you have submitted to Allah’s Will? (Tafsir At-Tabari). (3-81) And (remember) when Allah took the Covenant of the Prophets, saying: “Take whatever I gave you from the Book and Hikmah (understanding of the Laws of Allah, etc.), and afterwards there will come to you a Messenger (Muhammad ) confirming what is with you; you must, then, believe in him and help him.” Allah said: “Do you agree (to it) and will you take up My Covenant (which I conclude with you)?” They said: “We agree.” He said: “Then bear witness; and I am with you among the witnesses (for this)”. (3-82) Then whoever turns away after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious: those who turn away from Allah’s Obedience).

Islam is the only one religion of God,from Adam till Muhammad pbuh them. All prophets preached only Islam; People got divided into sects or religions , by insisting to follow only their own prophet or for worldly gains. (23-52) And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. (23-53) But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. (23-54). So leave them in their error for a time. (23-70) Or say they: “There is madness in him?” Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. “(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Qur’an (C) The religion of Islam,”] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth.

Those who seek any other religion than religion of Allah, Islam will not be accepted. Muslims believe in all prophets who all followed nothing but Islam. (3-83) Do they seek other than the religion of Allah (the true Islamic Monotheism worshipping none but Allah Alone), while to Him submitted all creatures in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly. And to Him shall they all be returned. (3-84) Say (O Muhammad): “We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob) and Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)] and what was given to Musa (Moses), ‘Iesa (Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allah) we have submitted (in Islam)”. (3-85) And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. (3-86) How shall Allah guide a people who disbelieved after their belief and after they bore witness that the Messenger (Muhammad ) is true and after clear proofs had come unto them? And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers).

All Abrahamic prophets followed only religion of Islam. (6-74) And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father Azar: “Do you take idols as aliha (gods)? Verily, I see you and your people in manifest error. (6-84) And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob), each of them We guided, and before him, We guided Nuh (Noah), and among his progeny Dawud (David), Sulaiman (Solomon), Ayub (Job), Yusuf (Joseph), Musa (Moses), and Harun (Aaron). Thus do We reward the good-doers. (6-85) And Zakariya (Zachariya), and Yahya (John) and ‘Iesa (Jesus) and Iliyas (Elias), each one of them was of the righteous. (6-86) And Isma’il (Ishmael) and Al-Yas’a (Elisha), and Yunus (Jonah) and Lout (Lot), and each one of them We preferred above the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of their times). (6-87) And also some of their fathers and their progeny and their brethren, We chose them, and We guided them to a Straight Path. (6-88) This is the Guidance of Allah with which He guides whomsoever He will of His slaves. But if they had joined in worship others with Allah, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them.

Many  prophets  came in succession but all of them were denied because they were  considered human beings and they  were suspected to aim at replacing the existing  political leadership. (23-23) And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him (Islamic Monotheism). Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?” (23-24) But the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said: “He is no more than a human being like you, he seeks to make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing among our fathers of old. (23-25) “He is only a man in whom is madness, so wait for him a while”. (23-31) Then, after them, We created another generation. (23-32) And We sent to them a Messenger from among themselves (saying): “Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?” (23-33) And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: “He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. (23-45) Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority. (23-46) To Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they behaved insolently and they were people self-exalting (by disobeying their Lord, and exalting themselves over and above the Messenger of Allah). (23-47) They said: “Shall we believe in two men like ourselves, and their people are obedient to us with humility (and we use them to serve us as we like)”. (23-48) So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. (23-49) And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. (23-50) And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother as a sign, And We gave them refuge on high ground, a place of rest, security and flowing streams. (23-51) O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do.

Everyone prefers to follow his fathers religion rather than  the religion of prophet of the time, i,e  Islam.  (31-21) And when it is said to them: “Follow that which Allah has sent down”, they say: “Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)”. (Would they do so) even if Shaitan (Satan) invites them to the torment of the Fire. (33-7) And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad ), and from Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), and ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). We took from them a strong covenant. (33-8) That He may ask the truthfuls (Allah’s Messengers and His Prophets) about their truth (i.e. the conveyance of Allah’s Message that which they were charged with). And He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful to Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path. (37-69)
